27 March sail

Image
Kenneth is out too... which means that there are some nice photos of Liza from another boat! He keeps his winch handle on the winch...  I'm always concerned about losing it overboard! And another boat close to our size…  A very nicely maintained Cornish crabber.

18 March Sail

Some of the first photos of Liza taken from the water (by Kenneth) And what we didn't see… but Kenneth did… blue fin tuna in Larnaca bay!

Windy even in the marina!

New bulkhead

Image
One of the things looking tatty inside Liza is the bulkhead so I bought some thin marine ply and had it veneered. I wanted a light wood not a teak which would make it look smaller in the cabin than it already is.  Stuck in onto the bulkhead with 'Strong Stuff'. Let's hope it is!

Me, Lukas and Katie out for a sail together.  Kenneth is out too… Heaven only knows what I am doing here! The mariner looks yonder!

Original 'ships carvings'

Image
The original 'ships carvings' from when Liza was built was a rather corroded brass plaque riveted to the main bulkhead. I removed it, made a mix of white vinegar and flour and put the paste on for 10 minutes, cleaned and repeated. It came up nicely. Now to return it to the bulkhead when I have finished that. (Oh and I want a new brass plaque for the new registration now in Cyprus.)
